Arts & Crafts Activity
Jane Morton
New resident, Marsha Harris gathered several residents for an Arts & Crafts discussion. She shared her love for weaving, and her desire to organize the space next to the Study Center, including organizing all the art supplies donated by former resident, Doris Griffin.
There is great interest in weaving, quilt making, and beading. You are encouraged to call Marsha with your desire to join others in this art area anytime, and especially every 3rd Wednesday from 1:30 in the afternoon.A New Year, A New Museum, and A New Exhibit
Anna Marie Trueman
On October 18, the Orange County Register ran a very interesting article entitled “Napoleon rides into Anaheim.” The painting is part of an exhibit now on display at the Muzeo Museum in Anaheim. “Treasures of Napoleon” is the largest exhibition of Napoleon-related objects to visit the West Coast.
The Off-Campus Committee is planning a trip to the Muzeo Museum on Thursday, January 7. Announcements will be made and flyers sent out in mid-December providing information about the cost and schedule for this trip.
We hope you will find this an interesting and enlightening experience!
Thank you, Dana Murton
A special thank you goes out to Dana Murton for his recent gift to The Willows’ residents. He has donated a signed copy of Kim M. Schuette’s book, Christian Science Military Ministry, 1917 – 2004.Please leave the book in the Study Center so all may enjoy for many years to come.
Introducing Marsha Harris, Weaver
When Marsha married Ed Harris, and moved to the Sonora area in 1994, she had time for the first time in her life to pursue her desire to become a weaver. She took courses at the local college, joined the Weaver’s Guild and has been actively enjoying her hobby ever since.
She would be happy to teach anyone how to weave, beginning with winding the warp (the threads that go from the back of the loom to the front) and getting it wound on the loom through weaving the finished project.
She is also pleased to offer her services as a weaver and weave your project for you from beginning to end. Please consult with Marsha (586.4743) regarding any costs.
