CIRQUE DU SOLEIL/CIRCUS MAGNIFIQUE

Cirque du Soleil is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2009 with the theme “the dream continues.”
Now – for the exciting news for the Willows’ residents! Cirque du Soleil is coming to IRVINE and the Off-Campus committee has purchased 20 tickets to the Friday, January 29th matinee. Watch for the sign-up announcement in early January and come to the show!CAROL CORY - VOLUNTEER EXTRAORDINAIRE

Our new Off-Campus Committee Chairman, Carol Cory, moved to the Willows in September 2007. Since that time she has volunteered for many committees: the Rose Clipping Committee, the Off-Campus Committee, a Hostess for the Guest Villas, the Resident Committee, and plays the piano or the accordion at Sing-alongs and Hymn Sings.

CLASSICS COME TO THE WILLOWS

The gifted young pianist Melanie Hadley maintains a multifaceted career as recitalist, orchestral soloist, chamber musician, and teacher.
Her most recent appearance as orchestral soloist was her European debut with the National Orchestra of Porto, Portugal, in addition to a debut recital in Lisbon. She will make her Willows debut on January 28, 2010, 7 PM in Hodges Hall.

THE WILLOWS FOUNDATION BOARD MEETING
Don’t miss the Willows Foundation Board Meeting to be held on Saturday, January 9th, at 2 pm. The speakers will include Barry Walson, President and Chairman who will address the Board’s activities and focus for this next year, Dian Hughes, Treasurer, who will give the Financial Status report, Dick Trueman, as the new Resident Board President, and Sandy Toner Kutz who will give us an overview of 2009 successes and plans for 2010. Marjorie Dagnall, C.S. from Aptos, California will inspire us all with her talk.
Please join us in gratitude for the Foundation Board’s gift to us of their volunteerism for the betterment of our living campus.
