November 2008

This time of year we think of gratitude more than any other time. Of course, it is because of Thanksgiving, but why should we limit that thought of gratitude? Those of us who are Christian Scientists have so much to be grateful for and so much to share with the world. I'm not talking about converting people, I'm merely talking about expressing the love and gratitude that Christ Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy encouraged us to do. So here we are in the middle of fall, the beauty, the coolness of the weather and surrounded by Love. What is there not to be grateful for?

Everything continues to progress at The Willows. The main building painting is complete. The painters will be here to do some extra touching up and painting a few of the buildings that were missed before they started. The shop area has a new roof and needs painting, then it's on to the carports. We all know how much work they need.

Guest houses are filling up for the holidays, so this is a reminder to get reservations in if you have family and/or friends coming.

The movie survey is complete, so we're expecting to begin the Saturday matinee in November. Why not November 8th for the movie "debut"? Bill Romaine has agreed to be the movie master, and maybe even pop the corn. We'll begin with The Sound of Music. So get ready for it and off we'll go to the movies. Movie time: 3pm in Hodges Hall.

On November 3, at 10:30 am, Fred Nickerson's daughter, Nancy Clark will be here with several exotic animals from the Animal Express. She will talk about them, show them to you and let you pet or touch them if you want to. This will be about an hour program from 10:30 to 11:30. Plan on joining us in Hodges Hall for an out-of-the-ordinary experience.

Have a wonderful gratitude-filled Thanksgiving.

Sandy
