The Administrator's Column

October 2009

Hello everyone! Who is ready for fall? I know I am, and I’ll bet you are too.

According to all reports, the ice-cream social was a success. Approximately 100 people attended. The “Men of The Willows” did an excellent job of dipping and serving. We had nine flavors to choose from with multiple condiments to top off your favorite. Randy Woltz did his usual wonderful piano playing and entertained us thoroughly.  Next year, we will serve from 2 pm to 4 pm since the ice-cream began getting very soupy by 4 o’clock, and we had to close up a little early. Thanks to everyone who helped and came to enjoy. The money from the clothing sale helped defer the cost of the social.

Our guest houses are already being reserved for Thanksgiving. If you have family planning to be with you at that time, please get those reservations in soon.
Tree trimming continues.  Once we get the major trees in shape, we will not have the trimmers here as often. The new system of completing each building with trimming, gutter cleaning and weeding appears to be working well. Rosalio and crew are working from building to building giving it a complete once over.  They have completed about half of the buildings. If they haven’t gotten to your building yet, just be patient. They will be there in the next few weeks. Mowing is being done on Monday and Tuesday, then the other work  on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Everyone tells me how beautiful The Willows is. Seeing it everyday makes it difficult to evaluate. So when you all recognize the results of the work done here by everyone on staff, it brings me joy.

You are appreciated and loved dearly.  Thank you all for being here. I am most grateful to be part of The Willows family with you.
