The Administrator's Column
October 2008
It is apple-picking, apple-eating, apple-baking time, which means it must be fall.
When I managed a day care center, we took the children to an apple orchard of a church member. He used to let several trees keep their branches low so the toddlers could easily reach them. What fun it was for all of us to see the children fill their bags with wonderful "delicious" apples. We'll be taking a bus to the apple country soon. How great it is to have all these opportunities at the Willows.
The painters continue to work on the administration building, patio and garden room. The freshness is so obvious. The preparation work that goes on before the actual painting is quite something. The men doing this work are very thorough as evidenced by the results.
We're in the planning stages of the Candlelight Dinner. Be sure to mark your calendars for December 5, 2008. It promises to be a special evening of dinner and entertainment.
We're training a couple of new bus drivers for church runs. We're expecting to have these trips to church be harmonious and timely.
Ken Alexander often fills in on these church runs, but his primary responsibility is SPOC, and he needs to be on campus for that unless he has a designated relief (which he does), but then he needs to have his time off. I'm counting on all of you to help metaphysically support the transportation activity.
Let's roll into fall with joy and wonderful expectation.
Sandy
