The Administrator's Column
August 2007
August -- as well as the rest of the year -- will be very busy at The Willows. We have many more new move-ins coming up. I love to see how you greet and embrace our new residents. You always make them feel welcome and glad they came.
The major roofing jobs are finished. We have just one building to complete. Tentatively it will be done in the fall. I appreciate your patience while the work was going on. We're grateful to have had the funds to complete projects like this.
In compliance with our insurance, we had to purchase a new commercial mixer with a shield. We also had to purchase two new lawnmowers. The kitchen steamer needed replacing, and that has also been ordered.
Let's proceed to more exciting topics. I think the ice cream social, along with the square dancing exhibition, was quite successful. Would you all agree? You just never know what we will be doing here at The Willows.
Our guest houses have been very busy this summer. We have people coming from everywhere, especially from the desert to escape the summer heat. We are always happy to have new faces around here. If you know anyone who might want to visit you, and stay in a guest house, please reserve space soon.
Our raised gardens have been prolific this year. I think this is partially due to the truckload of new dirt that was brought in, but also to the tender loving care that is so reflective of the atmosphere, and the people who live here.
I really would like to see more of you using our lovely swimming pool. It is such a nice size -- just like a home backyard pool. Do take a little time for a dip before fall tiptoes up on us.
In August I'm celebrating my three-year anniversary as full time Administrator. I can't tell you what it has meant to watch The Willows "blossom and grow." It's such a privilege to be part of this joy-filled community.
