July 2009

Happy 4th of July to everyone. We have so much to be grateful for in this world.

New things are coming and long forgotten things are being revived and restored.

  • First, we're looking at beginning the art classes again. The time the classes will be in the building where the cultural center used to be. If you have an interest, be sure to let our office know.
  • Second, the woodworking shop will soon be revived. We're hoping and expecting to have equipment and tools donated to make this a viable place for all of you.
  • Third, we're in the process of setting up a train in what was the boutique. Several fellows are in the process of helping to get that going.
  • And lastly, we have someone moving here in August who is interested in teaching weaving.

So we have a number of things going on, don't we? Never let it be said that The Willows ever let any grass grow under your feet (unless you are walking on the lawn).

There will be a new art exhibit in the back hallway of the Administration Building. Thanks to Patti Otis for lending her beautiful works to us these past months. Welcome to Judie Jones whose work we will be enjoying. (See article on page 6 of the July Newsletter.)

All is well at The Willows. Guests and residents are enjoying the pool and the beautiful grounds. The flowers have never been more lovely and the weather more enjoyable.

Have a wonderful 4th of July; keep sparkling yourself.
