June 2010

Are we ready for June? When I first moved to California everyone warned me about June “gloom.” I wasn’t impressed; I always expected June “bloom” and that is exactly what we get at The Willows, isn’t it? Don’t you love it?

We’ve had an exciting few months with several new permanent move-ins along with a couple of long term guest house occupancies. This is the first time we’ve rented two bedroom, two bathroom furnished guest houses. One thing you can certainly say about The Willows is that the staff is flexible and ready to meet any situation.

May has been a very productive month at The Willows. We have hatched seven ducklings who were paraded around here on Sunday--and can you believe it--in the pool. What a time they had getting out. But all is well with them. In addition, Dick and Sandy became grandparents of twins, twin humming-birds, that is. The mother laid her eggs on our back patio and two of the cutest hummingbirds came forth. They are adorable. I have a photo on my office computer if you would like to see them. Things are really “humming” around here.

We also welcome two new board members to the Foundation Board. Look for them on Board night. Be sure to say “hello” to Betty Jo Harrod from the Newport Beach Church and Don Robertson from the Laguna Beach Church. We are so grateful that they are willing to serve.

Keep your “cool” in June and be sure to enjoy the pool during these beautiful sunny days.
