The Administrator's Column
April 2008
Spring is beginning to bloom everywhere. When I think of spring, I think of "new life" which we express every moment. Isn't Christian Science wonderful?
What's new around our community? We are in the process of setting up a sewing room where the listening center was (behind the Boutique). A sewing machine has been donated and is set up in there. An iron and an ironing board along with a long table to use for laying out fabric have been put there. We'll add a few little items as we go along. If you need help using the machine, please call Nicki Garretson, 215.5737.
I (we) continue to pray with great expectation for the person to fill the office position. I believe there is a clear job description now. I'm so grateful to Pat Hay for her willingness to serve and her wonderful capability. Ingeborg Yeoman has always been available to fill in and cover for me when I'm gone. Thank you, thank you.
We're all so pleased to have Carmen back in the dining room and happy to see the evening meal continuing to be supported. I appreciate so much the graciousness and consideration that you all show to the kitchen and dining staff as well as the rest of the crew that help keep you and the community tip top around here. I know the staff appreciates your loving thoughtfulness when your needs are not met as quickly as you sometimes would like, whether it be in the dining room or elsewhere. We, as Christian Scientists want to let our light shine and I truly love seeing it shine around here.
Tom Schloegel and Niki Casimiro have been discussing our menus and how to better meet your needs. The survey you responded to was compiled by them. As always, The Willows works diligently to keep you all joy-filled and harmonious as well as well fed.
Our guest houses have never been busier and Pat can barely keep up with getting packets ready to mail out to people with information about The Willows. It continues to be an exciting, love-filled place to live and work. Your contribution to the loving atmosphere deserves to be recognized and appreciated. I know I speak for The Willows Foundation Board as well as myself when I say much love and thank you. The thank-you, of course, includes all of you "friends of The Willows" as well.
Love as always,
Sandy Toner
