The Administrator's Column
January 2010
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Can you believe we are already into 2010? Seems yesterday was 2009. I trust that you are looking forward to this new year, not as time passing, but as another step forward into activity, adventure, loving your “neighbor as yourself,” and most of all loving yourself!
The pool is up and running, 80 degrees by noon. The new heater seems to be doing a great job. We had a few glitches, not with the heater itself, but with a leak that resulted from the jogging of the plumbing, so the pool was off for a few days. But all is well now, so try to get over in the afternoon and enjoy a plunge.
Remember The Willows Foundation Annual Meeting, January 9, Saturday, at 2 pm, Marjorie Dagnall, C.S. will be the speaker. I promise you a treat is in store for you. You will also hear reports from the Treasurer, the Board Chairman and others. Be sure to mark your calendar. Following the reports and the talk, there will be light refreshments.
We truly want to thank Peggy Jacobs for the marvelous job she has done as editor of The Willows Newsletter. It has such a professional look. Because of the work of the staff, the writing, the editing, and all the rest of the work that goes into it, we have a newsletter we can be proud to share. Peggy gave notice over a month ago that she was ready to give up the newsletter, but she stayed with it through this January edition. Jean Paige, in the front office, has graciously offered to edit the newsletter. We are grateful! Thank you Jean!
We continue to search for new ideas and ways to bring more people into the dining room. Are you ready for more evening meals? We didn’t hear from many of you with recipes to try. However, we still have a few we haven’t served yet, so watch for them on the menu in the new year.
Let’s all cheer the New Year and continue to look forward to “Life at The Willows”.
